Assignment Description:For our first assignment, we learned about the eleven elements of composition: The rule of thirds, texture, pattern. depth of field, symmetry, lines, framing, perspective, balance, color, and space. We were instructed to apply these techniques in our photos to create a more in-depth compostion. What I learned:To state the obvious, we learned how to apply these elements of composition to our work. Aside from that, I gained experience in working with the camera. I learned how to observe scenery from a photographer's eye. When you're stuck taking pictures on school grounds, the photo oportunities don't always come to you; instead, you have to search for the best photo ops you can find. I learned how to seek out better images through finding different angles and lighting, then applied what we were taught in class to improve the compositions.

Welcome to my Blog! My name is Kaitlyn, and I am a senior at Saline High School. Throughout my high school career, I have put a lot of focus into the arts. From Fundamentals of Art freshman year, all the way to AP Drawing and Painting this year. Because I want to increase the breadth of my skill, I also included other arts classes as part of my curriculum, such as Film Photography, and Jewelry. I'm continuing with Digital Photography so that I can learn some photoshop basics, and to get some more practice with a camera.
